Company client working on behalf of its customer who are recruiting for an experienced Heating & HVAC Engineer on a permanent basis.
This is a mobile position covering three site locations in Surrey.
Place of Work: Guildford, Merrist Wood, Farnham
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (on site from 08:00 to 16:30)
Standby Service: On-call rota (paid additionally)
Probation Period: 3 months
Role Overview:
This mobile role involves both commercial and residential heating and plumbing work. The position includes the installation and service of renewable technologies, as well as general HVAC plant installation, service, planned maintenance, and reactive works.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Carry out planned service and maintenance to HVAC appliances, heating systems, renewables, plumbing, and general HVAC equipment.
2. Install and replace HVAC appliances under small works projects, including pipework and plumbing.
3. Install air source heat pump systems and associated controls.
4. Perform fault finding and troubleshooting tasks.
5. Maintain accurate records of work on internal field service software and management systems.
6. Participate in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota and remain flexible beyond core hours.
7. Ensure excellent customer care and maintain a smart, professional appearance.
8. Communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team.
9. Work confidently under pressure while adhering to current legislation.
10. Demonstrate commercial awareness in day-to-day tasks.
Requirements and Skills:
1. Desire for self-improvement and professional development.
2. Experience in both commercial and residential plumbing and pipework installations.
3. Strong work ethic, safety-focused, and pride in quality of work.
4. Relevant industry qualifications.
5. Ability to survey sites for new or replacement system proposals.
6. Practical and theoretical understanding of heating and plumbing systems in both commercial and residential settings.
7. Ability to perform planned maintenance on HVAC plant and equipment, adhering to standards such as SFG20.
8. Effective team player with strong interpersonal skills.
9. Familiarity with RAMS and Safe Systems of Work in compliance with Health and Safety procedures.
10. Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices.
11. Full UK driving licence.
12. Willingness to learn and undertake additional training as needed.
13. Proficient in maintaining detailed and accurate records using field service software (and occasional paper-based logs).
