About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Business Manager to support the Chief of Staff, CTO in driving operational excellence and strategic alignment across the organization. This role spans three critical disciplines: business management, financial control, and workforce management. The successful candidate will be instrumental in providing insights, ensuring financial accountability, and aligning workforce strategies with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Financial Control and Analysis
* Develop and manage budgeting and forecasting processes.
* Conduct quarterly re-forecasting to maintain financial alignment.
* Review and approve purchase orders, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines.
* Analyze ROI and investment allocation to drive profitability and strategic growth.
* Workforce Management
* Review and approve headcount requests, balancing backfills and new investments.
* Assess third-party engagement and its alignment with organizational goals.
* Monitor impacts on year-end forecasts and ensure alignment with financial targets.
* Evaluate the global workforce footprint and contribute to achieving the Target Operating Model (TOM).
* Business Management
* Develop a strong understanding of the business and CTO function’s impact on growth and product development.
* Provide data-driven insights to support senior leadership in strategic decision-making.
* Leverage existing resources creatively to explore and fulfill new business requirements.
* Ensure effective collaboration across departments to align projects and goals with the broader business vision.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* Strong analytical skills and a high level of numerical and business acumen.
* Advanced MS Excel proficiency (excluding VBA/macros).
* Degree-level education; a qualified accountant is preferred, with project management certification desirable but not essential.
* Experience in the tech industry with global operations is highly advantageous.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and alignment across teams.
* Change management experience is beneficial but not required.
* A proactive approach to continuous improvement, with a focus on streamlining processes and improving workflows.
