Have you considered a future in higher education? Are you aged 18 – 24? Would you like to engage in an apprenticeship programme? If so, we would like to hear from you.
LJMU are offering opportunities for five apprentices to develop new skills, knowledge, experience, and qualifications to successfully engage with the world of work. An apprenticeship is a great way to develop your skills and experience to become a confident and skilled worker. Apprenticeships are also an effective way to retrain if you are already in work but feel your experience or skills are not fully utilised. As part of the apprenticeship scheme, you will be supported to complete a nationally recognised qualification and be assessed throughout your learning.
Here are the apprenticeship opportunities we are offering:
* Estate Development Apprentice – Project Management Qualification
* Campus Services Apprentice – Customer Service Level 2 or Level 3
* Apprentice Network Technician – IT Solution Technician L3
* Apprentice Library Assistant – Library and Information and Archives Services Assistant L3 or Customer Services L3
* Apprentice Technician – Laboratory Technician Level 3
If you are interested in applying for any of these opportunities, please:
* Review the apprenticeship description and person specification for each of the five opportunities
* Complete the application form online, confirming which opportunities you are interested in being considered for.
* Submit it to us by the closing date (application forms cannot be accepted after the closing date).
* After the deadline for submission of applications, we will carry out the shortlisting process followed by an interview if you are shortlisted (you will find out either way).
Eligibility Criteria:
* You must have the right to work in the UK and valid residency status to apply for this apprenticeship and must be eligible for government funding in relation to the apprenticeship programme.
* We would also like to hear from young people from communities where potential often struggles to find opportunity.
At LJMU, our staff and students are our greatest assets, and we want to ensure that our workforce represents the communities we serve. As part of LJMU’s positive action programme, we are looking to increase the number of young people from diverse communities working for us. This programme will give them the opportunity to train with us and gain necessary qualifications.
If you would like an informal discussion prior to application, please contact Trainees@ljmu.ac.uk, and a member of the team will get back to you.
LJMU is proud of its commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion and endeavours to cultivate a staff base that is representative of society. Please let us know if you require reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process.
Please note that under guidelines laid out in the Apprenticeships Funding Rules issued by the Department of Education, the Skills Funding Agency will fund an apprentice to undertake an apprenticeship at the same or lower level than a qualification already held, only if the apprenticeship will allow the individual to acquire substantive new skills, and it can be evidenced that the content of the training is materially different from any prior qualification or a previous apprenticeship. Applications outside of this exception, and with qualifications at the same or higher-level requirement, with regret, cannot be considered.
