Searching for a job that might change someone’s life? Perhaps you’re looking for one that might change yours as well?
This Homeless Charity is searching for a new Intensive Support Worker to join their small and dedicated team, supporting people who were recently homeless and are now in a supported living environment. The role has the potential impact to re route a person’s life opportunities! BUT the support, and more importantly the person giving it must be right.
Salary: £27- £28k
Hours: Mon-Fri (no weekends or nights!!) 3 week shift ROTA 8am-4pm, 10am-6pm, 12-8pm.
Location: Northampton
You'll be supporting (that word comes up a lot!) customers on their journey back to 'mainstream' accommodation. Their needs will be very different, depending on their point in their journey. As an Intensive (the clue is in the title) Support Worker you'll be dealing with some of the most vulnerable and challenging customers.
On your shift, you'll be responsible for around 6 individuals, some of which will have complex issues, trauma, drug and alcohol dependency or mental health challenges. You’ll be supporting & providing a range of services such as medication and other basic health care.
You’ll need to be incredibly disciplined, set boundaries and ensure rules & regs are adhered to… You are there to support the clients, not be their friend, however, empathy is a must-have characteristic in this role – it’s a fine balance!
To Apply?
People who have worked in care, the prison service, mental health or just have a lot of lived experience are encouraged to apply.
Think you are up to it? There’s no getting away, the job isn’t for everyone, but it is potentially the most rewarding and satisfying role available today
