Role Overview
Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is searching for a Demand Forecasting Analyst. The position will be responsible to UK Fixed Wing programmes for providing a forecasting model that takes in daily updates of supply planning and inventory data, then uses that data to resolve a strategic & tactical plan in order to support customer requirements.
The Demand Forecaster will be responsible for the accuracy of the forecast and the analysis of the data elements that go into the model. This position provides exposure to multiple different functions. Communication and collaboration with other functions will be key to setting up the model with the most accurate view of reality.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain outstanding supply chain analytic tools for purchasing, planning, master scheduling, SCOR (Supply Chain Operations Reference), and ERP/MRP systems. Uses models to estimate resource needs.
* Develop and maintain an optimized supply inventory model to support customer requirements.
* Collects, cleans, verifies accuracy, and analyses data.
* Identify and communicate demand usage trends across platform for correlation between region, supplier etc.
* Monitoring data discrepancies and nuances between SAP and SPM.
* Responsible for updating pricing information in line with data feeds from Supply Chain functions.
* Identifying potential financial risks by interpreting pricing data.
* Assist in the development and maintenance of the SI&OP (Sales, Inventory, Operations Planning) process for the fixed wing programmes. This involves gathering and analyzing data, preparing reports, and providing insights to support decision-making.
* Working with cross-functional teams to ensure demand plans align with business requirements.
* Collaborating with the operations and supply chain teams to ensure adequate supply of materials, components, and resources to meet the demand.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement in demand planning and forecasting methodologies.
* Identifies and manages risks for modelling cycles.
* Work with large data sets in excel. Builds and manages data sets/modelling records.
* Support customer negotiations.
* Prepare presentations to communicate forecast results and insights to stakeholders.
* Supports Proposal/Case Write up.
* Schedules and lead meetings.
Preferred Experience:
* 3+ years of experience within a Supply Chain role.
* 3+ years of experience with use of inventory management tools or Enterprise Resource Planning systems e.g. SAP.
* Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint).
* Advanced Excel skills (ex: macros, arrays, pivot tables, logic statements, etc.).
* Highly developed numeracy, statistical and reporting skills.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Problem solving ability.
* Ability to prioritise and multi-task.
* Team orientated.
* The ability to work autonomously with only general direction.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
* 3+ Years of experience with asset management, demand forecasting, engineering, or simulation.
* Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain management or similar is preferred.
* Business Intelligence Tool experience e.g. Tableau.
* Experience with basic SQL.
