About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our team, working in the area of biomechanics. The successful candidate will create numerical models of biomechanical structures and validate them through experimental work. They will write and publish research papers, contribute to research proposals and liaise with medical partners. The role involves working closely with team members with different research expertise, and also supervising current PhD students in the group.
About You
Candidates should have a PhD in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering or biomechanics. They should be able to demonstrate the ability to write scientific journals. Knowledge of using the ABAQUS simulation software package within the area of biomedical engineering and experience in undertaking experimental work in the field is required. Good communication skills in both presentation and scientific writing, along with the ability to conduct research work both independently and as a member of a team, are also requirements of the role.
About the School
This post is within the School of Engineering and Materials Science, a large School with 70-80 academics and a similar number of postdoctoral research staff. There are around 1000 undergraduate and taught postgraduate students and 220 PhD students. These are supported by an administrative and technical staff team of 45. The staff and student body are international in make-up.?
