The role
* You have excellent stakeholder-management skills and can present technology solutions, risks and tradeoffs to any audience across Funding Circle.
* You are responsible for ensuring stakeholders understand the implications and opportunities of longer-term objectives, and set teams up for delivering successfully against these.
* You take accountability for high-level solution design and technology decisions within your Group.
* You are able to perform deep-dives and troubleshoot issues where required, but you seek to enable the teams rather than becoming a dependency for future issues.

* You will have sound commercial acumen and a solid understanding of how tech drives top line / bottom line. Impact at this level needs to be connected to customer / commercial outcomes.
* You coach Lead Engineers within your Group, giving them feedback on their solutions, and guardrails for making decisions. You demonstrate the ability to influence without requiring reporting authority to do so.
* You identify and act on opportunities to collaborate across different Groups within Funding Circle, and have a broad understanding of what is going on elsewhere within Funding Circle and industry trends.

* A senior who is able to lead and influence architectural decisions whilst mentoring and up-skilling more junior members of the team
* A strong fundamental programmer (data structures, algorithms)
* Familiar with developing on Unix/Linux

* Experienced in technical leadership
