Delivery Lead - Times Media

About the role:
The delivery lead plays a vital role within our Times Media technology department, helping to drive a programme of work to meet our strategic goals (OKRs) in a dynamic working environment. This role will be responsible for ensuring exceptional end to end delivery across a number of cross-functional software development teams and business functions. This role liaises and communicates to a broad range of stakeholders and has a direct impact on our customer experience and overall business profitability. The Delivery lead is also responsible for line management of Agile Delivery Managers within the programme, and will help to guide and drive best practice for delivery across the Times.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Project/ programme management of large initiatives spanning scrum teams and business workstreams
2. Working with Product Managers to create and maintain the programme roadmap for multiple scrum teams to meet business OKRs and monitor progress of key deliverables
3. Reporting and stakeholder communications for the programme of work
4. Supporting the cross-functional teams within the programme, and an escalation point for key risks/ blockers/ dependencies that require support
5. Driving quarterly planning processes for the programme across technology and business functions
6. Line management of Agile Delivery Managers within the programme
7. Supporting the wider Times delivery community with shared tools, standards, practices and metrics
What we’re looking for from you:
8. Experience in agile, waterfall and hybrid delivery management of large initiatives with multiple dependencies
9. Core knowledge of software development cycles, scrum and principles behind agile delivery
10. You have worked within a number of agile teams to support the delivery of company OKRs, have the ability to coordinate work across many agile and business teams
11. Ability to balance multiple priorities, and are comfortable dealing with ambiguity
12. Confident delivering process led as well as technology led deliverables and are adept in change management principles
13. Can develop highly effective relationships with colleagues at all levels in the organization to deliver the optimal solution, escalate where necessary to ensure the deliverables are completed in a manner that delivers the best outcome for the organisation
14. Proactively take responsibility, taking ownership of issues that arise and follow through to resolve them
15. Have experience with project management tooling such as Jira, Confluence, and roadmap tools Jira Product Discovery
16. An experienced line manager who is also passionate about supporting a delivery community of shared learning and practices
