This job is great for someone who is passionate about leading the execution of change governance framework, providing end-to-end oversight and reporting of all transformation activities and change portfolio performance across Finance. You will have accountability for rolling out best practices and change training to support the enhancement of finance change capability and ensuring that finance change delivers our vision and target set of outcomes by identifying and delivering enablers that can be leveraged by finance teams to support delivery.
A bit about the job
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Transformation Portfolio Director to manage the overall Finance Transformation budget (£30m per annum), reviewing allocations and providing escalations and recommendations for funding decisions at Investment and Steering Committee level. This pivotal role will oversee developing and delivering key messages on the Finance Change portfolio – providing necessary focus from relevant stakeholders on the portfolio position and influencing decision making aligned with the required outcomes.
You will manage and prioritise the Finance portfolio and strategic roadmap ensuring that implementation plans are in place covering all critical elements of the roadmap as they are relevant. Set up and run a governance over Finance transformation initiatives/workstreams, particularly:
1. Deliver input to the Group Finance Transformation Director & Group CFO in decision making and prioritisation of the change portfolio.
2. Facilitate investment decisions & approvals with effective cost: benefit analyses in place and aligned to plan.
3. Operate Aviva standard programme gating.
4. Intervention on “off track” initiatives via reporting and agreed actions at the relevant governance committee.
5. Operate & report first line health-checks via an assurance model which is aligned to the broader Aviva approach.
6. Provide oversight on all critical area of portfolio: costs, delivery, benefits, risk – delivered through an Anaplan reporting model (or similar) with well-defined processes and timetable in place.
7. Define and operate portfolio governance and operating rhythm.
8. Developing end to end finance portfolio reporting. Providing useful insights to meet customer needs.
9. Tracking and alignment of the portfolio to target state outcomes including definition of the metrics.
10. Communication to key stakeholders.
11. Develop and iterate on the groupwide Finance Transformation roadmap to deliver outcomes. Partner with the CIO for Group Functions to ensure the roadmap is supported by the finance systems transition and target architecture.
12. Provide oversight and guidance to the leads for automation and data to ensure that groupwide enablers are in place to support the market / group transformations.
13. Manage third party consulting relationships ensuring that value is delivered to Aviva.
Skills and experience we're looking for:
1. Proven experience of leading governance.
2. Experience in leading large-scale change and reporting in a Finance Function.
3. Knowledge of a Finance Function service model.
4. Experience of operating at a senior level within Finance, developing and maintaining strong working relationships at all levels.
5. Degree/equivalent, or a similar broad-based qualification. Accounting or Actuarial qualification desirable.
