Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Full Time) Choppington £350-450 per week (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications) December 2024 onwards (Long Term Role) The Role This ‘Outstanding’ SEND school, based in Choppington, supports children and young people aged 2-19 and is looking to appoint a passionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to work in Key Stage 1, 2, 3 or 4 on a full-time basis. Working in this EYFS, Primary, Secondary and Post-16 SEND school as part of an established team, the desired Special Needs Teaching Assistant will be working on a small class sized basis with pupils with SEND including Autism (ASC), Complex Learning Difficulties and Disabilities, Speech and Language Communication, Physical Disabilities, Sensory Regulation, Visual or Auditory Sensory Impairment or Social Emotional and Mental Health. This full time Special Needs Teaching Assistant role is long term from December ongoing with the possibility of a permanent vacancy for the right person. You will assist the class teacher with supporting teaching and learning, leading small group and 1:1 interventions as well as assisting pupils with their individual needs including personal care. You will be responsible for behaviour management as well as supporting the progress of pupils, liaising with staff and parents and participating in weekly CPD sessions.
