We are seeking a Procurement Operations Strategic Buyer to support our clients in South Birmingham, helping to optimise supplier relationships and procurement operations.

Key Responsibilities
As a Procurement Operations Strategic Buyer, you’ll play a key role in managing supplier relationships and optimizing procurement processes.
Your main duties will include:
Leading supplier negotiations using diverse techniques, including supplier meetings, e-auctions, and summits.
Managing and benchmarking existing suppliers, coordinating with Site Engineers to explore alternative products and arrange trials.
Ensuring contracts and NDAs are in place and legally approved, working closely with the Procurement Manager.
Driving cost-saving initiatives and maintaining a database to track all savings achieved.
Ensuring compliance in Health & Safety processes, including Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) for contractors.
Conducting monthly self-assessments using the ASAT tool in collaboration with the Procurement Manager.
Assisting with finance and requisition queries, supporting reporting and event preparation, and handling general administrative tasks.
Implementing procurement procedures and negotiating terms between suppliers and the internal Legal team.
Occasional travel may be required for supplier engagement.
The Person
Must have CIPS qualification
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Demonstrated customer service experience.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience with contract management, conflict resolution, and decision-making.
Collaborative team player with project management experience.
