We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated IT Operations Asset Manager to join our talented team of IT professionals in our Edinburgh office. This is a dual role position that combines leadership of technical support operations with responsibility for managing the lifecycle of software and hardware assets. Deliver a first-class customer service experience, whilst maintaining an accurate, compliant inventory of all assets. The manager will work cross-functionally with IT, procurement, finance, and legal teams to optimise software investments, enforce licensing compliance, and deliver high-quality technical support to the organisation.
Responsibilities:
* Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of IT Support Specialists.
* Oversee the UK side of the help desk ticketing system to ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
* Develop and enforce escalation procedures for unresolved or critical issues.
* Maintain high levels of user satisfaction through effective communication and prompt issue resolution.
* Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical problems.
* Analyze support trends and implement proactive measures to reduce recurring issues.
* Create and maintain documentation, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures.
* Maintain a centralised inventory of all software and hardware assets across the organization.
* Manage software and hardware procurement, deployment, renewal, and retirement processes.
* Ensure adherence to software licensing agreements and compliance with vendor terms.
* Coordinate and prepare for internal and external software audits.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with software vendors.
* Collaborate effectively with peers and cross-functional teams to enhance issue escalation processes and drive operational efficiencies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, HDI, SAM) are a plus.
* Experience in IT help desk or technical support management.
* Experience in software asset management, including licensing, compliance, and vendor negotiations.
* Solid understanding of IT support tools, help desk ticketing systems, and IT service management (ITSM) processes.
* Familiarity with software asset management tools and best practices. Axonius, SSCM and JAMF would be a plus.
* Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team in a dynamic environment.
* Proficiency in analyzing data and trends to drive process improvements and cost savings.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to resolving technical and operational issues.
* Experience in negotiating contracts and managing relationships with software vendors.
This position is based in our Edinburgh office, UK.
There can be potential for extended support during critical incidents or system outages. Occasional travel may be required. You must be based within commutable distance of the work location listed on the job posting, or willing to relocate prior to beginning employment with Cirrus Logic.
