Bewicke Medical Centre are looking for an enthusiastic and committed salaried GP with the view of becoming a GP Partner. We are an innovative training Practice team. We are ideally looking for a 4-6 session with some variation around this for the right candidate.
We are a busy and diverse Practice based in Wallsend, Tyne and Wear but do make sure our team are well supported and have a balanced and varied schedule. We have an appointment system which includes clinical assessment to help prioritise needs of patients. With a Duty Doctor daily cover aimed at urgent acute on the day appointments when we have used all the appointments. We have a number of ways to help alleviate pressures of clinical administration workload, with the support of two medical secretaries and a data management team to support with admin tasks. At Bewicke Medical Centre, we have a fantastic team that works well together, comprising of 3 GP partners and four salaried GPs that collaborate to solve problems and are incredibly supportive. Main duties of the job
* Established patient list with a manageable workload, and great support from a large multi-disciplinary clinical team.
* Offering 4-6 salaried sessions, with a view to a partnership if desired.
* Highly organised practice with a well-staffed team of clinical and clerical staff, who hold regular clinical meetings, and are actively involved in Wallsend Primary Care Network. We encourage the pursuit of specialist clinical interests to help benefit the needs of the practice patients.
* Successful GP training practice, with 3rd, 5th year medical students and GP Registrars.
* List size of approx 9375 patients.
* Good CQC rating practice.
About us
At Bewicke Medical Centre, we have a fantastic team that works well together, comprising of 3 GP partners and 4 salaried GPs and 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners that collaborate to solve problems and are incredibly supportive. We have a great team of receptionists, administrators, including a data management team and care navigators all working to provide an excellent service. We have a LTC Lead Nurse Manager and 3 practice nurses, 2 healthcare assistants, and 1 Nurse Associate. There are 2 medical secretaries that support all of the GPs. Some of our GPs specialise in Dermatology, Minor Surgery, Women's Health, and much more. We also have a dedicated Pharmacy team consisting of 2 pharmacists, a prescription clerk, and a pharmacy technician, as well as a PCN pharmacist.
Job responsibilities

* Conduct patient consultations and physical examinations.
* Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses.
* Prescribe medications and provide treatment plans.
* Refer patients to specialists when necessary.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
* Provide preventive care and health education.
* Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and administrative staff.
* Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
* Carry out audits and take an active involvement in driving the practice forward introducing new ideas and ways of working.

* Have experience in teaching, mentoring, or be a GP trainer.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Full registration with the relevant medical board (e.g., GMC in the UK).
* Completion of GP training and certification.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
* Commitment to patient-centered care.
* Good time management is essential.
* Conduct consultations for acute, chronic, and preventative care.
* Manage a wide variety of medical conditions across all age groups.
* Provide telephone and online consultations where appropriate.
* Issue prescriptions, order investigations, and follow up on results.
* Refer patients to secondary or specialist services as needed.
* Participate in clinical meetings, audits, and continuing professional development.
* Work collaboratively with practice nurses, receptionists, and other healthcare professionals.
* Contribute to the running and development of the practice.
Requirements:
* GMC registration and inclusion on the GP register.
* Completion of GP training and CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training).
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Excellent communication, clinical, and organisational skills.
* A patient-first approach and commitment to holistic care.
* Experience using EMIS Web.
* Interest in a clinical specialty (e.g., minor surgery, mental health, diabetes).
* Willingness to take on partnership or leadership responsibilities over time.
* Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
