The role: Technical Team Leader - Technical Support Group (TSG)
You will be responsible for leading an operational team providing clear accountability for safety and the continuous improvement of aircraft performance as related to aircraft technical issues, engineering process and procedures and the maintenance philosophy adopted.
Responsible for providing a clear focus and direction to deliver technical, safety and cost performance targets along with continuous improvement of aircraft performance, aircraft maintenance and engineering processes and procedures. You will also be required to Initiate and support business development and change initiatives in support of the business plan.
This is a full-time permanent position that involves working shifts. The position is based on a equivalent to 4ON-4OFF 12h shift working pattern.
What you’ll do:
* Responsible for improving aircraft and Engineering performance through proactive use of Aircraft monitoring and prognostic tools, carrying out repetitive defect analysis, aircraft reliability and Safety reviews.
* Support business development and change initiatives in support of the business plan
* Supports optimal technical decision making across the team and leads technical discussions across departments, using expertise and considering the business effects.

* In depth fleet/product knowledge gained through considerable hands on experience
* Specific knowledge of aircraft mechanical and avionics systems, structures and materials.
* Detailed knowledge of the safety and quality management system.
* Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements
* Detailed knowledge of company processes and procedures applicable to the work environment and people management.
* Full dedication to the fleet wide operation across the BA network.
* Strong influencing and communicating skills to manage customers and suppliers
* Able to create clear and effective work instructions to assist and support certifying engineers with guidance on fault isolation and compliance.
* Understand operational and financial implications of Technical & Operational decisions
* Capable of support simplification and process improvement initiatives
* Support business development and change initiatives in support of the business plan
Your experience:
* Ability to hold CAA or BA company approvals
* HNC / HND or equivalent in an Aerospace Engineering subject
* Recognised Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience
* The ability to hold and exercise CAA Part 145 Technical Engineer / Part21 CCE or CVE approvals as required for the role
