Job summary To assist in the development and delivery of the IPS service to enable provision of care for patients requiring palliative or end of life care. To provide day to day management of the IPS under the direction of the Sister or Senior Sister. Main duties of the job You will need tobe anexperienced registered nurse not necessarily in a hospice or palliative care setting with the desire to care for this group of patients. To lead the IPU when on shift in the absence of a Sister 3. To offer timely and individual care based on need, using referral criteria, regular patient review, assessment, re-assessment and discharge criteria as appropriate 4. To provide direct delivery of care to patients 5. To provide symptom control for patients including the administration of medicines in line with Thames Hospice Policy 6.
