JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to lead our team and drive the strategic growth of the business. This role requires a proactive leader with a strong background in business operations, financial management, and team leadership, preferably within a service-based industry.
The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring financial sustainability, developing business opportunities, and maintaining high service standards. They will also be a key decision-maker in shaping the company’s direction, fostering a positive workplace culture, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning & Business Growth
1. Develop and execute long-term business strategies to achieve sustainable growth.
2. Identify opportunities to diversify service offerings in response to market demand.
3. Monitor industry trends, innovations, and environmental considerations that may impact the business.
Operational Management
1. Oversee and manage daily business operations to ensure efficient service delivery.
2. Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve workflow, service quality, and operational efficiency.
3. Ensure all gardening, landscaping, and maintenance projects are completed on time and to client specifications.
4. Manage the scheduling of jobs, staff allocation, and resource planning to optimise productivity.
5. Identify and implement process improvements to streamline operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
6. Manage company budgets, financial forecasts, and expenditure.
7. Analyse financial reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess business performance.
8. Identify and implement strategies to increase revenue and control operational costs.
9. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to secure cost-effective materials and services.
10. Ensure all invoicing, payroll, and financial transactions are accurately processed and recorded.
11. Lead, manage, and inspire a team of 15 gardening and landscaping professionals.
12. Handle staff recruitment, onboarding, and training to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.
13. Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address any disciplinary matters professionally.
