We are currently recruiting for a Payroll Administrator. The role entails:
* End to end processing of Bournemouth University payrolls (monthly), which may include data entry and/or validating data to ensure that all records are accurate and regularly updated.
* Maintenance of the payroll system and leave planning system:
o Setting up Casual Staff and Bursary Students on the Payroll System.
o Setting up/creating secondary posts (when required).
o Validating tax changes in tax codes once received from HMRC.
o Amending employee data as required (Change of address, bank, membership to pension scheme/s).
o Managing the Casual/Bursary employees' leavers process.
o Publishing, producing, and printing payslips, including pay history (when required).
o Highlighting potential problems.
* This includes compliance with current UK legislation where employers must automatically enroll their staff into a workplace pension if they meet certain criteria.
* Liaising with staff and management on payroll related queries, including:
o PAYE
o National Insurance
o Pension matters
o Answering staff enquiries
o Policies and procedures
This position does not meet the eligibility requirements for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route within the UK Visa and Immigration service’s Points Based System. About The Department
The Finance and Procurement department provides advice and support on financial and commercial matters to teams across the university, ensuring that all regulatory demands are adhered to and financial transactions are timely, complete, and accurate for all income and expenditure, including payroll. The Procurement team works with a wide range of suppliers, managing all BU procurement activity and assisting and advising the University’s faculty and professional service departments in relation to their purchasing requirements.
