Other works include new build sites, large scale commercial and industrial schemes.

Purpose of the role:
This role is to assist the Head of Health & Safety with the provision of support, focusing on site Safety inspections and the management of health and safety across the business. The successful candidate shall be required to champion and uphold health and safety standards. This role will involve regular risk assessments, training, and compliance monitoring to minimize health and safety risks in both field operations and the office. Ultimately assisting the Head of Health & Safety to ensure we support our workers, safeguard the business and conform to relevant legislation and client requirements in respect of all HSEQ matters.
Key responsibilities include;
Provide professional support and advice to the senior management team and staff on occupationalsafety,health, environmental and quality matters
Assist in identifying and eliminating H&S risks within the business.
Educate and support Operatives in understanding safe working practices.
Evaluate and challenge poor H&S practices / Health and Safety Breaches.
Conduct daily site inspections across all gangs and report findings.
Responsible for the prompt closure of raised corrective actions / non-conformances.
Embed a 'SafetyFirst' culture through training and coaching.
Stay current with relevant legislation and industry guidance.
Contribute to the development of specific H&S Policies for compliance and best practice.
Investigate accidents and incidents to ensure lessons are learnt and shared.
Carry out Face Fit Testing periodically.
Audit safety provisions at the depot and within the Gangs and address any short comings.
Communicate findings of Audits and Inspection to internal personnel (Supervisors) and establish corrective actions/ improvement action plans.
Actively participate in the delivery of Safety briefings and ToolBox Talks to all Operatives.
Participate and encourage Near Miss /Observation reporting through Client Apps.
Attend Health & Safety meetings as required and engage with key internal and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate shall have :
A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction qualified.
Knowledge of Highways and Construction desirable.
A good understanding of relevant Health and Safety legislation.
Experience of delivering In-house HS&E Training, Tool Box talks and briefings
Knowledge of ISO 45001
Qualified face fit trainer (Desirable)
Monitoring and review of various H&S portals
Excellent communication skills, spoken and written.
Confident in dealing with site Operatives and other working parties.
Able to work as part of a team as well as on ones own initiative
Detail oriented, organised and flexible with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Able to work well under pressure.
Familiar with Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams
Must have a clean full UK driving licence as travel to remote sites and depots is required.
Job Specifics
Salary £30,000 dependent on experience and qualifications, paid weekly.
Fuel allowance for site travel.
Total x30 days leave, per annum.
Various on the job training provided.
