Job Description:
Set in the beautiful surroundings of Lennoxtown, Finniescroft Farm is more than just a home; it's a vibrant community where children and young people can flourish. We provide a therapeutic and homely environment, encouraging active participation in local youth groups, clubs, and recreational activities. With flexible placement options, we are committed to offering the care and support needed for each individual to succeed and thrive.
We’re looking for a compassionate and committed Support Practitioner to join our small team. In this role, you’ll work closely with children and young people to meet their care and emotional needs, build trust through positive relationships, and support them in developing practical life skills. You’ll contribute to assessments and care planning, promote wellbeing, and play an active role in daily routines, activities, and community life.
You’ll need to be registered (or eligible to register) with the SSSC, and either hold or be willing to work towards an HNC in Social Care and SVQ Level 3. A full driving license is essential. Experience in residential childcare or education is welcome, along with an understanding of trauma-informed practice and attachment theory. Above all, we’re looking for someone who is reflective, calm under pressure, and ready to be a positive, steady presence in a young person’s life.
If you believe in the power of care, compassion, and consistency and want to make a lasting difference in a young person’s life, we’d love to hear from you.
We also offer a range of benefits that support your well-being and professional growth, including retail and leisure discounts, a contributory pension plan, health cash plan, and professional development support.
CrossReach has been at the forefront of high-quality social care for over 150 years, providing loving care to people of all ages and supporting them to live life to the full. As part of the Church of Scotland, we aim to provide services in Christ’s name to those in challenging circumstances.
Applicants must be members of the PVG Scheme, hold the necessary UK work permissions, and meet SSSC registration standards. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds.
