Job Description for Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD)
As a qualified Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD), you will ensure adults with a primary diagnosis of a learning disability, who may also present with mental illness, personality disorders, and autistic spectrum conditions, in this low secure rehabilitation service receive high-quality care. You will also support your colleagues and promote positive teamwork.
The wards are busy, with plenty to keep you engaged and motivated, offering a good balance of routine and variety. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
1. Providing high-quality, effective, and compassionate nursing care to service users
2. Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care
3. Providing mentorship and support to team members
4. Observing, recording, and reporting all service user changes, and maintaining accurate records of care provided
Skills and Knowledge Required
* A relevant nursing qualification
* NMC registration
* A high level of self-motivation and a flexible approach

Workplace Details
You will be working at Cefn Carnau, a low secure/rehabilitation service for adults with a primary diagnosis of a learning disability, who may also present with mental illness, personality disorders, and autistic spectrum conditions. The programmes provided include sex offender treatment, anger management, trauma therapy, art psychotherapy, and bespoke psychological sessions tailored for individuals with learning disabilities.
