You will be employed by HomeCareDirect on behalf of the client and your focus will be to support them only. There are various positions available but all working hours will be between 8am - 4pm, 7 days a week. You should be flexible to work across all days on a rolling rota, including weekends. About the Client and Duties Our client is a young man in his 20's with a brain injury and complex care needs. Our client needs structure, routine and support with everyday tasks to enable him to access the community and social activities. The ideal support worker for this package will have a calm, patient and kind nature. You should be an excellent communicator with good verbal skills as our client does not have verbal speech and instead communicates through facial expressions, 'Eye Gaze' communication device and body language. You will need to be a driver with a full, UK driving licence and will be expected to drive our clients adapted vehicle to appointments and accompany him to participate in leisure activities. Complex care and personal care is required in this role and it is essential that you have experience of these. Requirements Training and Support: We provide comprehensive, paid training to CQC standards covering: Full induction Safeguarding Adults Health & Safety / First Aid / Food Hygiene Tracheostomy Care / Oral Suction / Gastrostomy / Medication Moving & Handling with Hoist Epilepsy / Learning Disability / Mental Health Awareness All training must be completed before the start date, with training hours paid at minimum wage Requirements: Complex care experience Driver with a full, clean UK driving licence Commitment to long-term, person-centred care You must be reliable, compassionate and committed to respecting confidentiality Benefits Our organisation is committed to safe and fair recruitment, safeguarding and protecting those we care for and serve.
