Field Service Technician
Ideally Luton based (North M25 Radius from Luton/Norwich/Oxford/Cambridge/Aylesbury/Bedford and Northampton)
£50-60K DOE + Company Vehicle + Annual Bonus
41 Hour Week - Monday – Thursday, 8am to 17pm, Friday 8am – 15:30pm
Our client is looking for a Field Service Technician to join their team and cover the North of the M25, providing support to Oxford, Luton, and up to Norwich among other locations.
Must be able and willing to work in various and sometimes challenging environments. The candidate must be adaptable and open-minded, able to engage with diverse teams constructively, and should view new challenges as opportunities for learning and growth, always seeking positive outcomes.
Role Responsibilities for the Field Service Technician Include:
1. Provide field service support for bus transmission systems
2. Diagnose and fix problems at customer locations and other sites
3. Replace large parts or systems when needed
4. Help introduce new products to the market
5. Work with the sales team to promote product performance and share service opportunities
6. Offer technical support and advice to sales staff
7. Build and maintain good relationships with customers
8. Report safety issues to Health & Safety managers
9. Work with customers to minimize vehicle downtime
10. Follow health, safety, and environmental guidelines
11. Complete jobs at company workshops when required
12. Finish paperwork and engineering reports on time
13. Manage work expenses and keep track of stock levels
14. Maintain company vehicles according to policies
15. Perform stock checks and share product knowledge with colleagues
16. Be ready to work flexible hours, including extra or unsociable hours when needed
17. Report any quality issues during work assignments
18. Stay up to date with assigned training programs
19. Always represent the company in a positive and professional manner
Professional Experience & Education for the Field Service Technician:
Completed engineering apprenticeship as minimum, level 5 qualification (or higher)/HND/HNC, DipHE.
Must have experience with HGV or Bus.
Background in field services and engineering; experience with electric vehicles.
Excellent diagnostic capabilities.
Good IT skills.
Full UK driving licence.
