A successful main contractor based in Central Scotland is looking to recruit an experienced Design Manager to join their expanding construction team. With a long-standing presence in the Scottish market, our client boasts an impressive portfolio and a proud history of developing and promoting talent.
As Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role within their technical team, taking responsibility for developing technical specifications and managing the design process from tender stage to handover.
Typically, you should expect to work on new build design and construct contracts across both public and private sectors, presenting a diverse set of challenges to test both your technical and management skills.
As Design Manager you should:
- Have a proven capability in managing the design development from tender concept to detailed design for delivery within a main contracting environment.
- Be confident in leading technical meetings with clients, third-party stakeholders and design partners.
- Have a good level of contractual awareness and understanding of commercial reporting implications relating to designs.
- Have a strong technical background with the ability to review design information and identify both value management and risk elements as appropriate.
- Have a good working understanding of BREEAM.
