Job summary We are looking for 2 full time Phlebotomy Co-Ordinators to improve and provide safe quality care in an ever expanding workforce across the wider county. As a Phlebotomy Co-Ordinator you will supervise and support phlebotomist's in your designated area and provide effective first line management and coordination of the service. You will be a fully competent phlebotomist and will be expected to set and maintain high standards of patient care and blood sample collection. You will be working unsupervised, getting support from line-managers as appropriate. You will work in various locations across the Trust and in the community supervising the work of blood collection staff. You will have the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute towards the provision of an accurate and timely service for patients. You will be expected to apply professional judgments and specialist skills to technical and sometimes difficult situations. You will be required to communicate effectively with patients and to colleagues, healthcare staff and other organizations. Your contribution towards team development will require your active participation in people management procedures consistent with Trust policies. You may be required to undertake additional tasks in support of the general management of the department for example health and safety and IPC internal audits, assistance with staff rota and stock control, appropriate delegation of tasks and development of the team.
