Assistant Fire Safety Advisor - Primarily the delivery of fire safety training across the organisation. This will include clinical and non-clinical fire wardens and the safe use of ski pads. Also, to assist where needed with other administrative tasks consistent with the JD.

Job Responsibilities
1. Undertakes the training of staff throughout the University Hospital of North Midlands in fire precautions and safety, in accordance with the Fire Training programme to achieve compliance in fire training requirements and achievement of 95% Trust target.
2. Arranges fire drills and practical demonstrations of the use of first aid fire fighting equipment, in liaison with appropriate managers and agreed programme of work.
3. Deals with fire in box general enquiries and correspondence giving advice and support on fire safety related matters as required and directed by team workload requirements.
4. Manages records of training activity and staff attendance to support data collation and reporting Trust and Divisional wide.
5. Undertakes regular inspections of all premises to ensure compliance with fire safety standards in accordance with current legislation/guidance (including Firecode).
6. Ensures that fire alarms, first aid fire fighting equipment, and escape lighting are regularly maintained and tested.
7. Ensures that fire exits and fire escapes are regularly maintained and remain free from obstruction in liaison with responsible persons.
8. Ensures that appropriate fire safety notices are prominently displayed in all Trust premises and arranges for replacements or updates to be undertaken as required.
9. Maintains records of all fire survey/inspection activity.
10. Advises external contractors on fire precautions/preventions.
11. Prepares fire incident reports as necessary and maintains appropriate records.
12. Undertakes such other reasonable duties as may be delegated from time to time by the Trust Fire and Security Manager.
Person Specification
Experience
* Experience in delivering face-to-face training sessions.
* Experience of Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook/Internet.
* Knowledge of work procedures and practices, majority non-routine, intermediate level theoretical knowledge including specialised IT systems obtained through formal training or equivalent experience both desk-based and portable.
* Able to undertake a range of work procedures and practices including transcribing data recorded at audits and during monitoring into electronically transferrable records.
* Experience of using Microsoft Teams and/or Zoom for training purposes.
Qualifications
* 3 G.C.S.E's or equivalent.
* NVQ Level 4 or Diploma in a relevant field or equivalent.
