Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Aerodynamics Methods Engineer to join the Fluid Mechanics team within the Engineering Technology & Safety function, based in Bristol.
As an Aerodynamics Methods Engineer, you will ensure a strong link between the aerodynamic design capability and the numerical toolset, with profound aerodynamic knowledge, the ability to develop physical and science modelling methods, and the qualification to make use of digitalization tools. Deep technical involvement in tasks and investigations is expected, as well as good stakeholder interaction and collaborative teamwork.

Key Responsibilities
* Use your numerical methods and programming skills to maintain and extend aerodynamic design tools, CFD solvers (incl. pre/post tools), and digitalization methods.
* Generate, analyse, and interpret aerothermal results in support of the design of Rolls-Royce products.
* Contribute to our Aerothermal methods capability acquisition strategies.
* Define and support R&T projects for technology developments with universities and sub-contractors.
* Possess good stakeholder management skills and an openness to work in global teams.
Who we are looking for:
To be successful in this role you will need:
* Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace or related Physics or Mathematics.
* Profound knowledge of fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, and thermodynamics.
* Strong experience in aerothermal methods development and application as well as the utilization of digitalization tools, in particular very good C++ and Python programming skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with local and global teams.
