What you'll do on a typical day:
* Perform and document risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and hazardous goods program reviews.
* Establish and maintain a professional network for benchmarking and research to ensure that PERI Formwork Systems Inc.'s H&S policies reflect best practices.
* Liaise with external organizations, committees, agencies, and associations to stay current on changes to legislation, regulations, and industry practices.
* Investigate and report on near-miss incidents or workers' compensation claims, implementing solutions to eliminate controllable risks.
* Manage the lifecycle of claims related to lost-time injuries, illness, or modified duties.
* Develop and execute safety campaigns to support a safety-first culture through awareness and education.
* Conduct needs assessments and lead the path to ISO 45001 certification.
* Establish and maintain the necessary professional network for benchmarking and research to ensure PERI Formwork Systems Inc.’s approach to H&S policies and procedures reflect best practices.
What you'll need to be successful:
* Strong team-building and leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
* Excellent organizational, analytical, and decision-making abilities, with proven problem-solving skills.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
* Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
* Sound organizational, analytical, judgement and decision-making skills with proven abilities in problem solving.
* University degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent industrial experience.
* Occupational Health and Safety Degree, Diploma, or Certificate (CRSP designation is an asset).
* Construction Safety Officer Certificate or other relevant safety certifications are an asset.
* 3-5 years of relevant functional experience in health and safety roles.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience influencing team members at all levels within an organization.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and general computer skills.
* Flexible, motivated individual with the ability to adapt quickly and effectively.
* Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment. Flexible Worker – Primarily Day shift. However, must be prepared to flex schedule to support off shifts as needed due to the site being a 24/5 facility. Must be a flexible and agile worker to meet wider leadership duties.
