Research and Business Fellow in AI for Autonomous Healthcare Systems

Background
The Robotics, Autonomy and Machine Intelligence (RAMI) Group led by Prof Nabil Aouf is dedicated to fulfilling customer’s ambitious and innovative requirements. The group steadily establishes itself as a world leader in a range of applications in AI and Autonomy.
Responsibilities
1. Undertake research in AI for healthcare autonomous systems. Activities on non-healthcare systems could occasionally be requested.
2. Undertake research from algorithm development to real-time implementation.
3. Prepare, publish, and present papers and presentations on the related work for highly ranked Journals and major meetings and Conferences, as specified by the Principal Investigator.
4. Work as a member of the research team in discipline, playing a full part in the research life of the University in general, and the RAMI Group within the School of Science and Technology.
5. Assist in Business Development activities for the expansion of the Autonomy of Systems Centre.
6. Assist in writing proposals to expand the healthcare autonomous systems activities.
7. Take up other duties and tasks, such as teaching, tutorial and laboratory as may reasonably be assigned.
Person Specification
1. Capability to carry out research in more than one of the following areas: AI and Deep Learning in Healthcare related context, Robotics and autonomous systems, Computer vision, Embedded and Real-time Systems.
2. Knowledge in promoting group activities and Business development.
3. Experience of processing data and presenting results in a suitable format for dissemination of results in reports, presentations, and research papers.
4. Demonstrable knowledge of programming skills (Python/C++/Matlab).
5. Interest in developing AI and deep learning-based solutions for healthcare systems.
6. An ability to work effectively with research staff, students and customers, and organizing activities of the Autonomy of Systems Centre.
7. Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and work under tight time scales.
8. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
