We are looking for a Director of Sales – Venue Search to join our Sales team. As an integral part of our sales team reporting into the Vice President of Sales Solutions UK, you will be responsible for driving new business growth within our venue search service.
You will collaborate with internal stakeholders in order to develop a proactive and targeted sales/engagement strategy that will drive revenue growth. You will have expertise in new business sales with a background in venues/venue finding. While the primary focus will be targeting revenue into the UK, you will be comfortable in working on global and multinational bids where your clients are based in the UK, giving you the opportunity to collaborate with your global and regional peers.

As a Director of Sales, you will:
* Manage your own strategy and workload, ensuring that all proposals meet the objectives of the brief and are presented in an effective and timely manner.
* Recruit, train and develop any new team members allocated to growth business with venue search services.
* Take ownership of any new proposals, tenders and RFPs assigned or generated, which will include delivery of presentations and pitches where required along with the creation of case studies that showcase our services.
* Keep in touch with everything that is new, exciting, and relevant in the meeting & event industry – especially venues and technology.
* Maintain a commercial perspective on the proposal being put forward to the client; ensure that the client receives best value solutions and that each project offers BCD Meeting & Events a meaningful profit opportunity.
* Support with providing valuable client feedback to help build out effective marketing campaigns for new business, ensuring we are ahead of our competitors in the marketplace.
You're good at:
* Developing business relationships at a senior level within organisations.
* Proven delivery on securing new business for venue find service or within a pro-active venue sales focus.
* Able to listen and interpret clients' requirements/vision to offer solutions that meet their requirements whilst delivering commercial revenue to the business.
* Implementing sales and engagement strategies to support a company's growth strategy.
* Actively and successfully managing the sales process: lead generation; credentials pitch; asking questions; solution pitch; negotiation; close and contracting.
You might also have:
* Line management experience.
* Expertise in sales for other services within the event industry.

You should know:
* This is a hybrid role that requires 2-3 days a week spent in our London office.
* You must have the right to work in the UK.
* You must have the ability to attend to flexible working hours when needed to present and meet with clients – both virtually and in-person which may include travel outside of the UK.
* You are comfortable with attending networking and industry events which may include evenings and weekends.
