This is an exciting opportunity to join the Administrative team in the Bristol Heart Institute.
The Inpatient Booking Coordinator will be responsible for coordination of our inpatient and elective waiting lists. As a core member of the team, you will be expected to be proactive and take the initiative both individually and as part of the team by liaising with various key clinical staff groups to ensure the needs of the service are met.
Communication:
1. To liaise with and act as a point of contact for queries from patients as well as clinical and non-clinical staff
2. Escalate patient queries, capacity problems and general issues to the role’s line manager
Patient Care:
3. To show a caring and professional approach towards patients, relatives and carers. This may require acting with resilience to deal with sometimes distressed patients and relatives in an empathetic manner
Organising and Planning:
4. To produce a daily work list for cardiology cath labs
5. To manage patient communications via telephone and use Trust systems to create letters.
6. To manage requests for inpatient procedures
7. To keep accurate data regarding cancellations and utilisation
8. To attend daily meetings with the wider team to ensure patients are listed appropriately and labs are fully utilised
9. Attend appropriate meetings as required by the role’s line manager
Service Development and Research:
10. Attend training courses as required to support personal development and the needs of the service
11. Assist in training of new members of the team
