Job Title: FCAS Reliability, Maintainability and Testability Engineer Location: Warton. Salary: £47,683 – £52,426 depending on skills and experience What you’ll be doing: Undertaking reliability and maintainability analysis and engineering tasks to influence the design and future sustainment of platforms and systems so that they are inherently supportable in their intended use within the constraints of the operation and environment Contributing to the relationship between the engineering capability teams and engineering central function to influence the current and longer-term skills, processes and tools needed for R, M & T engineering on a next generation platform. Including by maintaining an awareness of latest changes and developments in standards, international specifications, toolsets and recognised methods Representing the Supportability Engineering team at broader technical reviews, integration activities, and planning events Providing technical R, M & T engineering guidance, advice, mentoring and support to junior or less experienced engineers in the team Contributing to ensuring the alignment between reliability and maintainability engineering, safety engineering and human factors engineering in any reliability analysis activities undertaken Your skills and experiences: Degree qualified in a relevant engineering field (or demonstrable professional experience working in a relevant engineering roles) Knowledge of the principles of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Testability Experience of applying at least several of the following R, M & T engineering tools techniques approaches on complex programmes: Failure Modes, Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA), R, M & T Allocation, Prediction & Modelling of complex systems & Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) Knowledge and experience in applying international andor military standards and specifications relevant to Reliability engineering (e.g. ASDAIA S-Series Specifications, MSG-3, Def-Stan 00-40 series, Def-Stan 00-045) Good IT Skills, including MS Office but also experience working with digital engineering tools Proven leadership management experience Benefits: You’ll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan. The team: This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a major international combat air development programme during the design early lifecycle – influencing the “design for support” considerations of the core platform concept from a reliability point of view as well as eliciting and developing reliability requirements for the product. The role will evolve into the application of reliability analysis activities throughout detailed design and development of the product, and ultimately into operational and in-service phases of the programme.
