Job Description:
Fixed Term Maternity Cover - HR Generalist
We have an exciting opportunity to join our fast-paced HR team providing full employee relations & recruitment support to our Gateshead, Sedgefield, Carlisle & Leyland sites. To front line employees, you are an approachable, experienced individual who can offer impartial advice on Company policies and procedures. To our management staff, you provide proactive HR consultative services in areas of employee relations, talent management, absence management & recruitment.
This role supports the 24/7 operations of UPS and to provide appropriate support to each business unit, you will need to be flexible with regular travel and working times. We are open to applications from candidates with existing HR generalist experience, an HR administrator seeking their first generalist role, or someone newly CIPD qualified.
The salary for this role is £31,000.00pa and will last for a 13-month period covering maternity leave.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide full HR support to local management and employees. This includes ownership of the recruitment process and guidance on all employment relations issues.
2. Maintain strict compliance standards including the completion of background checks.
3. Conduct audits in HR owned matters to maintain high company standards.
4. Be an ambassador of company standards and expectations.
Essentials:
1. Full UK driving license and personal car with business travel insurance.
2. Good working knowledge of MS Office applications.
3. Up to date understanding of employment law and UPS policies & procedures.
4. Able to demonstrate the successful management of multiple priorities and tasks.
5. Self-motivated, organised, and able to accommodate varying working hours.
