Psychological Therapist (CBT/EMDR Therapist)

To provide high quality specialist psychological assessment, formulation, brief individual and group intervention using an evidence based psychological model to patients or staff within the Infected Blood Psychology Service (IBPS) and Southern Haemophilia Network.
The newly developed IBPS is part of a national NHSE initiative to provide support to those infected and affected by the contaminated blood scandal. The post holder will form part of this national provision with regular contact with clinicians and services across England.
The Southern Haemophilia Network provides comprehensive care to patients with inherited bleeding disorders across the south of England. The post holder will work as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team providing care for these patients when required.
Main duties of the job
* To work within professional guidelines and the organisational structure of the Service's policies and procedures.
* The post holder will place an emphasis on co-production and demonstrate an attitude which respects and values individuals' and their carers and the core values of the Trust.
* Work will also involve working with other people involved in the individuals' care (e.g. family or named carers).
* To provide a psychological perspective to other members of the multi-professional team, with an emphasis on understanding the complex nature of the acute physical care system.
* To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development in line with service need; contributing to a research culture in the clinical team.
* The post holder will work with people from different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary, and should be committed to equal opportunities.
* You will be required to liaise with the multi-professional network.

Job responsibilities
* Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service, likely including trauma focussed work.
* To provide evidence based psychological assessment, formulation and interventions for people referred to the team based on a variety of sources including psychological tests and structured interviews.
* To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of individuals' physical and psychological problems.
* To provide brief psychological group or individual interventions, adjusting and refining psychological formulations as necessary.
* To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options considering theoretical and therapeutic models.
* To communicate assessment findings and treatment recommendations in a highly skilled and sensitive manner.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Qualification from High Intensity IAPT Course (Post Graduate Diploma) OR Equivalent
* Accredited by BABCP / HCPC / equivalent professional governing body
* Good record of Continuing Professional Development and willingness to continue this
Experience
* Demonstrate experience of working with physical health issues.
* Ability to meet agreed/specified service targets.
* Ability to manage own caseload and time effectively.
* Demonstrates high standards in written communication.
Skills
* Full range of skills and competencies as laid out in the competence framework for CBT (Roth and Pilling 2007).

Salary: £46,148 to £60,504 a year (per annum pro rata).
