We are seeking an enthusiastic Class Teacher to join a well-established special school in Street, dedicated to helping students aged 11-19 develop essential life skills and achieve their aspirations.
About the Role
As a Class Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering an engaging and adaptable curriculum aligned with the Preparation for Adulthood framework. You will support students on their individual learning pathways, helping them work towards their destinations after education, whether further education, training or employment.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver tailored lessons that support academic, social and vocational development
* Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and wider school staff to support students’ individual needs
* Encourage students to develop independence and confidence in preparation for adulthood
* Assess and monitor progress, providing constructive feedback to ensure positive outcomes
About You
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated educator who:
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
* Has experience teaching in a SEN, alternative provision, or mainstream setting with an understanding of diverse learning needs
* Is committed to raising aspirations and supporting students to achieve their full potential
* Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Demonstrates resilience, adaptability and a positive approach to teaching
