Job Title: Social Worker Salary: £32,654 - £40,476 per annum (plus £3000 Market Forces Payment) 37 Hours per Week Location: Wildwood Offices, Wildwood Drive, Worcester, WR5 2LG (with travel around South Worcestershire) Team: Mental Health Team South Permanent The Role: The Mental Health South team in Worcestershire are a team focused on supporting and empowering individuals to have the best mental well-being possible, to reach their goals, and to maximise the quality of life of those we support. We work closely with our colleagues in health, commissioning, housing, safeguarding and other partner agencies to create innovative care plans, manage risk, and support discharge plans from out of county and rehab mental health wards. We support individuals from 18 with functional mental health conditions as well as co-morbidities and support the transition process from children to adult’s services when required. We are passionate about the development of staff within the team and are a supportive, dynamic, and person-centred team of practitioners. At present we have staff undertaking apprenticeships to become qualified social workers, staff completing their ASYE and those undertaking their AMHP training, as well as staff who have champion roles in particular areas of interest to them. We encourage regular reflection with monthly reflective practice sessions and have the social work academy who offer a range of training opportunities. We also have practice educators in the team and regularly welcome students on placement. We are currently looking for dynamic and passionate social workers to join us in our specialist team. About the role: Are you a highly motivated social worker with experience of strengths-based practice, who is interested in furthering your professional development by undertaking statutory social work in line with the Care Act (14), Mental Capacity Act (05) and Mental Health Act (83). This role offers an exciting opportunity for the development of highly competent levels of skill in assessment, support planning, intervention, and evaluation through working in complex situations, whilst working collaboratively with Herefordshire & Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, who provide specialist mental health services across the County. As a social worker within this team, you will play a key role in improving mental health services and mental health outcomes for the people of Worcestershire. You will bring a distinctive social and rights-based perspective to your work, through advanced relationship-based skills, and a focus on personalisation and recovery, will support people to make positive, self-directed change. You will be supported in developing your analytical and professional judgement skills and application of a range of social interventions that promote recovery.
