An exciting opportunity has arisen for a high achieving Senior Leader to be recruited into the post of Professional Head of Radiography.
The Radiology Directorate is part of Diagnostics, Therapies, Pharmacy and Sciences Care Group. The directorate provides a full range of diagnostic services including general and specialist plain film, cross-sectional and interventional diagnostic imaging, nuclear medicine and breast screening.
You will professionally and operationally lead this comprehensive service, working closely with the Clinical Director and Service Manager for imaging to deliver high quality patient care and achievement of both departmental and Corporate objectives.
You will be an HCPC registered Diagnostic Radiographer with experience in managing service delivery in a diagnostic setting, and will have strong leadership and interpersonal skills. You must be able to evidence delivery of high quality operational and financial performance, collaborative working and improvements in care.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
This post will be based at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital but responsibilities within the role will cover staff and services that span across Dewi Sant Hospital, Llantrisant Health Park, Maesteg Hospital, Prince Charles Hospital, Princess of Wales Hospital, Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Snowdrop Centre, Ysbyty Cwm Cynon and Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda.
The post holder will:
1. Provide daily support and professional leadership for Non-Medical Health Care Science and clinical support staff across the Imaging directorate, ensuring patients and staff are safe, cared for and listened to.
2. Lead the development and delivery of consistent clinical and professional standards (HCPC) and the development of clinical leadership capacity within the directorate. This will be in line with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, Regulatory standards (IRMER), resource controls and constraints.
3. Ensure that non-medical professional and clinical support staff provide excellent quality care with exceptionally high safety standards and treat all patients with dignity and respect.
4. Work with senior Healthcare Scientist, nursing and workforce colleagues to ensure that they recruit and retain and develop a pipeline of the best non-medical professional and clinical support staff, creating a learning environment where every member of staff counts and is developed.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
* Current HCPC registration. First Degree and/or equivalent senior management experience.
* Masters level qualification or evidence of post graduate study (or equivalent experience). Management qualification or additional short courses or experience at Doctorate level or equivalent senior management experience.
* Leadership training.
Experience
* Experience of working at a senior Radiographer level in an acute Health Care setting.
* Extensive knowledge of and experience in the operational management of hospital services.
* Advanced management/leadership experience of clinical teams.
* Experience of working strategically to translate strategy into operational planning and performance management.
* Proven ability to manage a budget/multiple budgets.
