Job Description
This role is to work with a leading distribution specialist that has an extensive network of distribution centres across the country.
They are looking to recruit a Safety, Health and Environmental Business Partner to join the team on a permanent basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of health, safety, and environmental risk strategy of the business as set by the Head of Safety & Risk and be required to travel nationwide when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Delivery of ISO certified safety and environmental management systems.
2. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on Health and Safety, Environmental risk, and Safety Culture, including all road transport and operational yard safety at company and third-party locations.
3. Ownership of company health and safety policies, training, and audit regimes, ensuring suitable arrangements are in place and managed accordingly.
4. Responsible for the delivery of Human Factors and Safety Culture Awareness program, empowering the business to embrace positive behaviours through a just safety culture.
5. Lead positive relationships and dialogue with internal and external stakeholders (Health and Safety Executive, DVSA, Local Authorities, Trade Associations, etc.).
6. Ensure all incidents and accidents are fully investigated by trained competent colleagues, with escalation according to the nature or severity of the incident.
Minimum Requirements:
1. At least NEBOSH level 3 or equivalent.
2. Qualifications and experience with ISO 45001 and ISO integrated systems.
3. Auditing qualifications and experience.
4. Environmental Risk qualifications.
5. Extensive Accident Investigation experience, including full root cause analysis.
6. Highly effective communication skills, both orally and written, with the ability to negotiate and influence at a senior level.
7. A valid UK driving license (company car may be provided).
