We are seeking a highly skilled Waste Client Manager to undertake client and contract management with our Integrated Waste Disposal and Collection company, as well as other waste-related contractors. The ideal candidate will have technical knowledge in waste collection, disposal and treatment, street cleansing, winter maintenance, and commercial waste. This role involves preparing specifications and contract particulars, developing performance management systems, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake client and contract management with the Integrated Waste Disposal and Collection company and other waste-related contractors, using technical knowledge in areas such as waste collection, disposal and treatment, street cleansing, winter maintenance, and commercial waste.
* Prepare specifications and contract particulars for all service provisions, and develop performance management systems for continuous monitoring of all contracts.
* Provide regular feedback to the Service Director regarding contract performance, and take action to work with the company to remedy problems or implement improvements to services.
* Direct contractors when there is a shortfall in expected service delivery.
* Collate, process, and interpret waste statistics on all areas of the waste management system to prepare statistics for submission to relevant authorities and ensure compliance with the Waste and Emissions Trading Act.
* Manage the health and safety performance of the Waste Service, ensuring compliance with permits, licences, and other regulatory requirements.
* Work in partnership with colleagues across various departments to ensure a joined-up approach to waste management and cleansing to meet customer needs.
* Facilitate and finalise agreements between waste contractors and colleagues in legal and property departments regarding the occupation and future development of waste sites.
* Collaborate with external stakeholders, including officers from adjoining local authorities, DEFRA, and other bodies of national or regional significance.
* Work with partners on waste-related procurement activities for re-commissioned and new contracts.
