* Law Society admitted and Solicitor Regulatory Authority registered solicitor, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives or Bar Standards Board registered barrister.
* Experience of drafting constitutions and dealing with complex structures in a political environment.
* A thorough knowledge of that area of law, good advocacy skills and considerable experience in case management is essential along with demonstrable experience of working in a particular field.
* Ability to absorb and interpret legislation, case law and procedures.
* Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
The successful candidate will represent clients in court and advise on the constitutionality of laws, government regulations, and actions.Key Responsibilities:
* Research and analyse legal issues, interpret laws, rulings, and regulations related to the constitution.
* Corresponding and negotiating with government departments.
* Prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda on constitutional and governance issues.
* Interpreting policy documents
* Advise clients, governmental bodies, or other entities on the constitutionality of laws, regulations, or actions.
* Represent clients in court, before government agencies, or in private legal matters.
* Present and summarize cases to leadership team, elected members, government officials and judges.
* Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
* Collaborate with other legal professionals to discuss case details, conduct legal research, and coordinate litigation strategies.
* Keep up to date with changes in constitutional law and relevant case precedent.
