The Cardiothoracic Critical Care Unit consists of 31 purpose-built beds combining both level 3 and level 2 care for cardiothoracic patients. The Unit is the North West Centre for Cardiopulmonary Transplantation, including the development of a VAD programme, an established VV ECMO respiratory service, and the provision of VA ECMO as part of our heart failure service.

Main Duties of the Job
The Cardio-thoracic Critical Care unit is currently in a position to appoint to a substantive band 6 ECMO Co-Ordinator post. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated individual to support our large nursing team. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their ability to lead a team of nurses, support the management of the unit, support staff within the challenging critical care environment, and have knowledge of the current multi-faceted NHS. The candidate must be an experienced ECMO specialist nurse, with experience within the cardio-thoracic critical care specialty, a teaching qualification, education to diploma level, evidence of level 3 studies including the Critical Care Course, and evidence of personnel development.
