The Opportunity
Our Client; a well-recognised and respected Materials Handling company who are among the world's largest suppliers of Automated Warehouse and Materials Handling solutions are now actively seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager on a permanent basis.
You will ideally be living in England with this role seeing you home based, with then travel needed when appropriate to meet with customers across the country, perhaps also in Ireland and the Nordic countries. On offer here is a negotiable (albeit dependent on relevant experience) basic salary, together with a full flexible benefits package, to include a company car or car allowance and 10% bonus.
As their Senior Project Manager, you will manage individual or multiple projects for different customers across a number of different sites simultaneously through to the end of the warranty period, ensuring that they are completed on-time, within budget, to the agreed scope and that they meet the customers agreed specification and our Client’s quality expectations.
For this position, we are seeking a diligent and experienced project management professional with proven experience in overseeing multiple capital expenditure projects up to £80M in value within a similar industrial environment (e.g. Rail, perhaps HS2 or Construction, Nuclear, Utilities and/or Automation (i.e. elevator/escalator or conveyor manufacturing or similar)).
Detailed duties and responsibilities will be:
To manage any number of individual projects, for different customers, on different sites, simultaneously.
To ensure that all contracts are completed on time, within budget, to the agreed scope and that they meet customers’ agreed specification and our Client’s quality expectations.
Issue weekly and monthly reports to inform the Company of progress against budget and programme, listing any cost variations, identifying significant problem areas and with updated payment schedule.
Maintain good control over the cost development of the contract and give accurate predictions of over or under spending.
Deal with the customer on all contractual matters, including claim management with office support as necessary.
Maintain and implement an up to date project time schedule; this has to indicate clearly the critical path of activities and any deviations from plan.
Co-ordinate and check all technical interfaces and activities. Ensure design meets contract requirements, with office engineering support as necessary.
Co-ordinate the specification of, and trigger procurement of equipment, products and services together with appropriate departments.
Produce invoice schedules and ensure that the customer is correctly invoiced throughout the project.
To be the “face” for the customer, obtaining signed handover of contracts, managing all personnel on site including sub-contractors.
Production of RAMS, issue Health and Safety Policy, issue hazard and risk analysis, compliance with CDM and any other regulations with office support. To assist in the preparation of detailed specifications, clarification of the customers’ requirements, and defining scope of supply as well as ensuring that detailed test and commissioning plans are generated.
Overall co-ordination of delivery of all materials to site as well as managing the acceptance of quality of all sub-contract work.You will have the following qualifications & experience:
Should ideally be educated with a minimum HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, although a Degree qualification is preferred in a technical engineering field or similar discipline, although plenty of relevant experience will also be considered.
You should be a highly experienced Senior Project Manager with a proven track record in delivering projects across a broad spectrum within a similar industrial sector (i.e., Rail, perhaps HS2 or Construction, Nuclear, Utilities and/or Automation (i.e. elevator/escalator or conveyor manufacturing or similar)).
You should be experienced in having project budgetary responsibility as well as project scheduling.
Excellent Leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Good knowledge of MS Project, Excel and Word is needed.
Willingness to travel across England, Ireland and perhaps to Nordic countries is required.It’s great if you also have the following:
A PMP, Prince 2 or equivalent Project Management certification is highly desirable.This position is available with immediate effect.
