This role involves leading strategic asset allocation and portfolio design advisory services, tailored to meet the diverse investment needs of their global clients. The strategist will engage in in-depth analysis across a broad spectrum of asset classes including public equity, fixed income, hedge funds, private equity, debt, infrastructure, and real estate, providing clear, actionable advice to optimise client portfolios.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Design and present custom investment solutions, acting as a consultant and expert to clients, guiding them through the complexities of strategic asset allocation and portfolio construction across a range of asset classes.
2. Utilize advanced analytical methods to analyse, interpret, and present data, offering strategic insights to clients.
3. Develop and refine analytical tools critical for delivering the services.
4. Support the Portfolio Solutions team's business development and client acquisition efforts, through presenting to prospects, writing thought pieces, and developing the services offered, and working in tandem with Relationship Managers.
5. Raise the profile of the Portfolio Solutions team through research publications.
The level of autonomy and project leadership given to the candidate will depend on his/her level of seniority and number of years of experience in the industry.
Experience and skills required:
1. Demonstrated experience in investment management or consultancy, with exposure to multi-asset class, multi-manager portfolio and private market investment activities being desirable attributes.
2. Experience of the fund management industry gained within the asset owner / manager / adviser space.
3. A solid understanding of all major asset classes and portfolio theory, skilled in strategic asset allocation, and portfolio construction.
4. Advanced proficiency in a range of financial analyses, including but not limited to efficient frontier analysis, simulation analysis, regression analysis, private markets cash flow analysis, and timeseries analysis.
5. The ability to understand, interpret, and replicate academic or practitioner research papers is essential.
6. Proficiency in programming, particularly Python, for running analyses and developing analytical tools.
