Job Summary
The Senior Staff Accountant will work to manage the daily accounting for Bethel Woods Center for the arts in collaboration with the Finance team.
Job Duties
* Internal Audit of Box Office
* Preparation of support documents for tax return
* Settlement of the pavilion shows each season and final settlement with partner
* Preparation of flash P&L files for all events and camping
* Record daily cash transactions
* Review trial balance and general ledger activity
* Assist with preparing monthly summary and departmental P&L statements and all related journal entries
* Assist with preparing other monthly schedules such as labor, museum attendance summary, MECP by program, Sponsorship, rent receivable
* Assist with invoice preparations and tracking for all BW
* A/P batch review including verifying proper authorization and coding accuracy
* Assist with preparation of Sales Tax filing work papers and related journal entries as well as research taxability of items as needed
* Assist with preparing weekly bank deposits and review box office bank deposits
* Preform special projects as assigned
* Assist in preparation of budgets
* Assist in preparation of audit workpapers and audit selections
* Prepare AP monthly bank recs and review all other monthly bank recs
* Assist with quarterly license reporting (ACAP, BMI, GMR, Sesac)
* Assist with preparing show permit applications and related report of show after events
* Assist with preparing annual state charity registrations
* Assist with monthly IATSE reporting and payment
Job Requirements
* Bachelors degree in accounting
* Accounting experience required
* Working knowledge of: Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Great Plains
* Ability to work independently
* Attention to detail
* Organizational and analytical skills
