With the launch of further Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) in Waveney & Norfolk, we are looking to recruit three Senior Wellbeing Practitioners. Two posts will be based in King's Lynn, one with the new West Team and one with the established King's Lynn Team. An additional post will be based at Dereham with our established MHST Breckland Team.
All will have a start date in January 2025, to coincide with the launch of the new West Team. Successful applicants will be able to complete the UEA supervisor course in 2025.

Main Duties of the Job

The post holder will:
1. Provide case management and clinical supervision to Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) and Trainee EMHPs under the direction of the Senior Clinicians and Clinical & Team Lead.
2. Manage a caseload and the provision of Mental Health Care services to children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems in education settings.
3. Provide assessment and formulation of mental health difficulties in children and young people.
4. Offer evidence-based practice in guided self-help, CBT, child and adolescent mental health practice and Whole School Approaches to mental health.
5. Clinically develop the provision of group work for children/young people and training for teaching staff, to include training and mentoring EMHP colleagues.
6. Ensure the 'voice of the child/young person' is pivotal in all aspects of clinical practice and development.
7. Participate in the MHST Supervisors course run through the University of East Anglia.
Job Responsibilities
Clinical
1. Under the direction of the MHST Senior Clinician, be accountable and responsible for a defined clinical caseload.
2. Provide screening, assessment, psychosocial formulations and interventions for mild to moderate mental health difficulties in educational settings.
3. Provide a comprehensive and accessible service to the whole school community, targeting children and young people aged 4 to 19 years old.
4. Support professionals in making appropriate referrals and in carrying out the mental health aspects of their own roles.
5. Liaise closely with other professionals including GPs, Paediatricians, and other agencies.
6. Make appropriate referrals to other service providers and redirect clients as required.
7. Provide consultation as required to other professionals around mental health issues.
8. Work creatively with other team members to create training packages for teachers and support sessions for young people and parents/carers.
9. Conduct risk assessments and prepare risk management plans.
10. Actively contribute to team multi-disciplinary working.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner qualification, EMHP Certificate or Diploma, or relevant core professional qualification.
* Registration with a relevant professional body.
* A qualification in the provision of supervision.
* CBT Training/Qualification.
Experience
* Two years+ experience as a Band 5 or equivalent clinician.
* Experience of providing supervision.
* Experience in delivering evidence-based interventions for children and adolescents.
* Experience of working within a service with demanding targets.
Skills
* Effective psychological assessment and treatment skills.
* Basic computer skills including use of email/internet and Microsoft software.
* Ability to work within a team and foster good working relationships.
* Sound knowledge of national legislation related to mental health.
