King Edward VI High School wish to appoint a Leader of Humanities who has the necessary breadth of experience and expertise to lead and develop the curriculum across a broad range of Humanities subjects and bring about further improvements in our school. We are looking for an enthusiastic, well qualified, motivated and innovative leader who will lead the Humanities department to further success. This is an exciting post for an excellent practitioner and for the right candidate; this post offers excellent potential for career development.
Leading by example, you will be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning, have first class communication skills and the ability to maintain productive relationships with staff. Furthermore, you will have a proven track record in enabling learners to make excellent progress and the determination to make a difference to the lives of young people. You will also be expected to contribute and impact on whole school improvement, particularly at middle leader level.
The role of Leader of Humanities is to inspire young people to enjoy learning. We are looking for someone who will help move the school forward in Humanities across the school.
You will be able to demonstrate:
* A proven record of improving performance at student level and within the department
* An ability to narrow the gap for vulnerable students
* An ability to stretch and challenge pupils
* Excellent teaching and learning
* Experience of middle leadership and improving the performance of individuals
* Improving data tracking and target setting at every level and every Key Stage so that all students fulfil their potential
The successful applicant for the above post will be:
