This role is only open to applicants that currently work within an NHS Trust within the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care System (HIOW ICS).
An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen within the surgical division to become part of the admin team of the General Surgery and Urology admin teams across the Winchester and Basingstoke offices.
Managing a team of up to 25 people, this role offers plenty to wet the appetite. The main duties of the role are described below but will include the coordination of patients' journeys through the RTT pathway, 28-day FDS, and 62-day treatment start targets.
With opportunities to cross cover, this post is a developing cross-site role to ensure the admin teams are well looked after and developed.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To be responsible for the organisation and management of the Surgical administration staff at BNHH including Colorectal/Hepatobiliary/Vascular/Urology and Upper GI administration teams. Responsible for all aspects of line management, including staff performance, staffing issues, sickness/leave/disciplinary, changes to job roles, continuity of service, etc.
2. Arrange and lead regular team meetings.
3. Liaise regularly and as required with appropriate Consultants and OSM and Deputy to ensure appropriate relationships are built.
4. Support the OSM in new initiatives and ensure that services develop in line with the Trust’s strategy.
5. Support delivery of 18-week compliance.
6. Review, establish, and implement opportunities to improve administrative processes.
7. Formulate different options to address administrative issues identified and develop and implement new protocols and procedures.
8. Review, and where appropriate, establish and implement administrative processes to ensure compliance with all local and national targets.
9. Initiate corrective action in order to meet key targets.
10. Plan, develop and implement processes to resolve issues in relation to administration, including the identification of incorrect or missing data.
