Job Description
The salary for this role is £26,156. Onsite working is expected for 3 days a week, however, we actively support requests for flexible working.
This role is to be based at the following site: Culham, Oxfordshire.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions and possibly a search of open source data.
The Role

As an Electrician, you will play a pivotal role in undertaking a wide range of electrical work in an industrial environment covering installation, commissioning, fault-finding, maintenance and repair in accordance with current legislation and codes of practice. You will also help to provide guidance to junior electrician improvers and electrical apprentices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install indoor and outdoor electrical distribution equipment in compliance with current regulations and local standards.
* Undertake the construction and wiring of electrical control cubicles.
* Support testing, commissioning and fault-finding tasks on various electrical control and distribution equipment.
* Adhere to Safe Systems of Work and planned timescales for all installation activities.
* Undertake support work on various electrical projects with diverse teams across site.
* Ability to prioritise own daily tasks according to the appropriate work plan for each project.
* Maintain high standards of safety at all times and comply with safety procedures.
* Provide guidance to the UKAEA electrician improvers and apprentices.
Qualifications
* Time served in an electrical craft/apprenticeship.
* City and Guilds 2357 (Level 3), or equivalent, updated to BS 7671: 18th edition.
* Able to demonstrate work experience in an industrial/commercial environment.
* Demonstrate the ability to work safely in accordance with a written safe system of work (WSSOW).
* Work and communicate effectively as part of a team.
* Strong ability to solve problems.
* Prioritisation skills, able to balance workload effectively.
* Knowledge and work experience of large distribution networks would be advantageous.
