Description The Well Decommissioning Director will spearhead the strategic oversight and execution of global well decommissioning projects at Weatherford, ensuring alignment with governance standards, customer objectives, and technological advancements. This role is pivotal in driving business development and acquisition efforts, fostering successful partnerships, and expanding market presence. The Director will advance engineering excellence while maintaining alignment with the company’s product lines and commercial strategies. Additionally, the role involves significant collaboration with targeted regions identified as key focus areas for the company’s growth and expansion. The Director will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that optimize financial performance, ensuring projects are delivered within budget and contribute positively to the company’s bottom line. Key Responsibilities: 1. Governance: In partnership with the regional leadership, lead strategic decision-making processes to drive business growth, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market opportunities. Establish and enforce governance frameworks that promote financial accountability and transparency in project execution. Oversee the evaluation and approval of key projects, ensuring they meet financial performance targets and strategic goals. Establish and lead governance frameworks to ensure strategic alignment and compliance with industry regulations and company policies. 2. Global Partnerships & Technology: Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with global technology providers and stakeholders to drive commercial success and sustainability goals. Identify and leverage cutting-edge technologies that enhance well decommissioning processes, leading to increased market competitiveness and profitability. Drive initiatives that translate technological advancements into tangible business growth and market expansion. 3. Engineering Oversight and FEED (Front-End Engineering Design): Develop execution standards for successful well decommissioning projects. Provide engineering oversight to ensure that all decommissioning projects are executed efficiently, safely, and within budget. Lead the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase for complex decommissioning projects, ensuring robust planning and risk management. Ensure that engineering designs are optimized for safety, environmental impact, and cost-effectiveness. 4. Pursuit Support: Lead the development of technical proposals and bids for well decommissioning projects. Work closely with the geographies commercial teams to identify new opportunities and strategies for project acquisition. Support negotiation processes with a focus on technical and commercial alignment. 5. Commercial Alignment : Align well decommissioning strategies with the company’s geographies and product lines goals and objectives, identifying synergies and opportunities for value creation. Develop and implement strategies to optimize financial performance, ensuring projects are delivered within budget and contribute positively to the company’s bottom line. Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities to drive revenue growth and profitability. Provide strategic input into commercial decisions, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with engineering standards. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geosciences, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred. Minimum of 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a significant focus on well decommissioning. Proven track record in leading complex engineering projects, including FEED. Strong experience in global partnership development and technology adoption. Demonstrated experience working across multiple countries, with an extensive knowledge of global decommissioning regulations, standards, best practices, and market dynamics.
