Oxfordshire Trading Standards are looking for an Enforcement Assistant. The role involves providing administrative support including intelligence data processing and research to support the Trading Standards team. The role also provides practical operationalsupport to ensure that it can carry it's functions and that operational equipment is ready for use. It involves communicating with business, consumers, residents, other agencies and arms of the authority in person, by telephone, letter and email and also undertaking basic investigation and regulatory activities under supervision. Whilst this post is not an apprenticeship, a range of potential apprenticeships may be available to the successful candidate, including L4 apprenticeships in Regulatory Compliance Officer, IntelligenceAnalysis and DataAnalyst. About you You must be comfortable with working around farm animals, in different environments and be able to communicate assertively with both members of the public, other agencies and some of which may be in confrontational circumstances. You should be able to work alone and use your own initiative, but also as part of a team.You should have an eye for detail and have good record keeping, but also be able to understand and interpret potentially complex legislation.If you have relevant experience or qualification, this ideal, but not essential, however, you must be willing to complete formal qualifications.
