Long Term Futures is seeking a committed Interventions Teaching Assistant to join our partner primary school in Handsworth. This rewarding role provides the opportunity to make a real difference by delivering targeted interventions to support pupils in reaching age-related expectations. This full-time position offers long-term stability, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
1. Adapt and create teaching materials to cater to diverse learning needs
2. Assist in lesson planning, resource organisation, and maintaining a structured classroom environment
3. Lead targeted interventions to boost academic progress and overall wellbeing
4. Support children with SEN through one-to-one assistance and small group sessions
5. Facilitate engaging activities that encourage social interaction and inclusivity
Minimum Requirements:
1. Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent degree
2. Minimum one year of experience supporting primary pupils, preferably in Early Years or Key Stage 1
3. Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
4. Experience delivering effective phonics interventions in both group and one-to-one settings
